To submit a report: You can submit reports to us in one of three ways. They can be sent in anonymously or with your personal information, which will not be stored on any server or posted online.

2. You can email us at siege@womensmediacenter.com.

3. You can submit a report via Twitter by using the hashtag #RapeinSyria (please be sure to include the location or geo-location so we can map your report).



Please include as much of the following as you can in your submission:

Date and time of the attack

Location—town or city but also the specific location of the attack

Suspected perpetrator

Exact, full quotes with sources about what happened

Were you an eyewitness or did the attack happen to you?

How do you know about this incident?

 

Taking precautions: Please know that digital security is a moving target—there is no mechanism for online reporting that can be guaranteed 100 percent secure. There are risks and benefits to reporting, and we have done everything we can do to make this site as secure as possible. That said, here is what you can do if you want to take extra precautions when submitting a report (these are not required measures to submit):

•  If you are submitting reports via email, please go to http://www.hushmail.com and sign up for an email address. From your hushmail account, email us your report to siege@womensmediacenter.com. Please include location or geo-location information so we can map your report.

• We encourage you to install and start TOR security software on your computer before you submit a report (this protects other users from viewing what websites you have accessed). If the main TOR site is blocked, try one of the mirror sites. Here is a tutorial video on how to install and operate TOR.

• If vulnerable websites are visited (e.g. Gmail, Yahoo, etc.), always use https proxies if available.

• If sensitive websites have been visited (before installing TOR), delete all browser history. Your browser history can still be found, but this makes it a little harder.
